WRO Grant

Objective

The mission of the World Robot Olympiad Association Ltd (WRO) is to get as many children as possible involved in robotics and the related sciences.

This opportunity should not be restricted to children from affluent countries. Consequently, the WRO grant is for projects that aim to promote robotics to children from underserved communities in less affluent countries.

As a basic principle, WRO does not fund projects 100%. Applicants are requested to seek funding from more sources.

Who can apply for the grant?

Only National Organizers of WRO can apply for the grant.

What projects can receive support?

For the 2012 season the WRO grant only provides support for costs associated with travels to WRO 2012 in Kuala Lumpur.

WRO requires documentation for all expenses related to supported projects.

Where does the money come from?

The WRO grant is supported with funding from our sponsors and LEGO Foundation. At this moment the sponsors are:

LEGO Education, National Instruments and HiTechnic.

Note, we have limited funding for the grant, so please consider carefully if you are eligible for support.

How to apply

If you are a National Organizer of WRO in your country then contact WRO Program Manager, Claus Ditlev Christensen (ditlev@lego.com) and request the application form.

The application deadline is September 1st.

WRO will collect and evaluate all applications and all applicants will receive an answer no later than two weeks after the application deadline.
